And thus did the dark gods of animation (perhaps not as well known as Hera or Sekhmet, but just as capricious and vengeful) declare that a blog should be made. And contained within that blog would be the creations, illustrations, animations, destinations, and various and sundry other words rhyming with the aformentioned, of one Sarah Gates. And so, on the sixth day (or the seventh day, if you're Seventh Day Adventist) of the fourth week of the second year of my stay at Brigham Young University, the prophesized blog was brought forth in the depths of the Crabtree Building basement in order that it might flower and grow.
That aside, I decided to begin my first blogging experience with my most recent work and then continue forward in two ways, into my past and into my future, so that this blog might be as confusing as possible. Try to keep up.
Above is the last life drawing I did during the Friday open figure drawing sessions. The foot turned out a little weird, but I tried to deemphasize that area of the figure. I'll let you decide whether the image turned out successful or not.
Below is our first group photo project from Kelly's storyboarding class. Basically it's a storyboard done with photos. I think what we're supposed to be getting from this exercise is that we are filmmakers, not just artists or... technical peoples. I thought it turned out pretty well, so I decided to post it for your enjoyment.
